Nine people have been killed on Western Cape road this weekend and four of those were children.
On Friday evening, three sisters between the ages of seven and 11 were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Hartenbos in the Southern Cape.
Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says three pedestrians were also killed.
“Since Friday evening nine people lost their lives on the Western Cape roads. On Saturday night, two pedestrians were killed on the N1.”
Africa says a man was knocked over and killed while trying to cross the N1 highway outside Cape Town on Sunday morning.
“Earlier, another pedestrian lost his life on the N1 after he was knocked down by a motor vehicle.”
