A joint team under the command of the Provincial Head of Organised Crime Unit, Brigadier Johan Myburgh dealt drug dealers a hard blow when they arrested five suspected drug dealers in Galeshewe.
The collective team comprising of Crime Intelligence, TMS, Kimberley POP, Upington and De Aar K9 Units, Kimberley LCRC and Provincial Commercial Crime Detectives arrested five suspects who were allegedly involved in drug dealing in Galeshewe on Wednesday, 21 June 2023.
Court directed evidence linking them with the crime was collected over a period time by police agents who conducted observation and surveillance actions in an attempt to collect evidence. The police seized Mandrax tablets, Tik and Dagga to the value of R103 650.00
The five suspects were arrested and charged for dealing in drugs and will appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate Court soon.
The Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Johan Bean was actively involved in the operation and commended the public for being the eyes and ears of the police. He said that the police will strengthen their efforts in combatting drugs related crimes.
