A murdered man whose body was discovered by five (5) teenagers next to a river in Buffelsdraai – KZN has been identified.
At approximately 17:22 this afternoon (Wednesday), a male and female arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) HQ requesting assistance. The male informed Reaction Officers that he and his 21 year old friend Sboniso Ntinga from Gwadane in Osindisweni – KZN were searching for scrap metal this morning when a group of men in a white bakkie (make & registration unknown) approached them at high speed.
The two fled in different directions. His friend concealed himself and witnessed Ntinga being shot in the back. The suspects thereafter loaded him into the rear of the bakkie and drove off. His friend proceeded to his residence and waited for Ntinga to return. This afternoon, he learnt from the girlfriend that the body of an unidentified male had been discovered in the vicinity of the area they were searching for scrap metal. They proceeded to RUSA offices to verify the deceased’s identity.
Sboniso Ntinga was identified as the deceased from crime scene photographs.
