A man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head shortly after leaving his friend’s home in Cottonlands – KZN this afternoon (Friday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa arrived on scene at approximately 21:21 and located the victim lying on an unpaved road. He was bleeding from a gunshot wound to his head. It was established that the victim was speaking on his cellphone when a shot was fired. The bullet struck his cellphone before penetrating his head. The suspect thereafter fled. The motive for the shooting has not been established.
The injured male was stabilised on scene by Paramedics from the Provincial Ambulance Service before being expedited to hospital by ambulance.
