[PIETERMARITZBURG, KZN – 30 JUNE 2012 AT 18HH45]
A man believed to be his mid forties has lost his life after being knocked down by a light motor vehicle on the N3 Durban bound just before the Umlaas on ramp this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the middle of the freeway with the light motor vehicle a few meters away in the emergency lane. They assessed the pedestrian and found that he had suffered very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene. The driver of the light motor vehicle was unharmed in the accident.
The local authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further.
