On Wednesday, 30 October 2024, a collaborative effort between SAPS Lyttelton and private security companies led to the arrest of three suspects for vehicle theft in Tshwane.
Intelligence was received regarding suspects involved in vehicle theft in Tshwane driving a white Ford Puma. A surveillance was conducted in the Muckleneuk area and a high speed chase ensued after suspects evaded tactical teams. The suspects were successfully cornered in Lyttleton.
Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed the vehicle was fitted with false registration numbers and police seized evidence including, car-breaking equipment, various vehicle computer boxes, and a jamming device.
Further investigations will determine if suspects can be linked to other cases of vehicle theft cases in Brooklyn, Lyttelton, Garsfontein, and Sunnyside areas.
