Devoted police members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit, deployed in Mitchell’s Plain due to ongoing gang violence, continues their mission to eliminate illegal firearms in our communities and to apprehend the offenders of the law.
On 14 November 2024, at approximately 20:50, members responded to a complaint of a shooting incident in the Beacon Valley where upon approaching Jukskei Street, they noticed male persons who immediately ran away upon spotting police vehicles. The members gave chase and managed to apprehend them. The three males were found in possession of two firearms. Further investigation revealed that the three suspects were also allegedly involved in a shooting and attempted murder which occurred minutes earlier.
The three suspects were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges on Monday, 18 November 2024.
