Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr. Jackie Macie has today (02 December 2024) welcomed the newly recruited Crime Prevention Wardens (CPWs) for Ehlanzeni Region.
The new wardens are among the 1200 who will be deployed at all 90 police stations in all three regions of the province.
The wardens will undergo a training programme, and once completed, they will participate in the government’s efforts to combat crime. They will work closely with the police and other stakeholders in preventing crime.
Nearly 800 appointments have been finalized so far. The outstanding appointments will be confirmed pending police clearance for the candidates.
The welcoming of Ehlanzeni wardens took place in Mbombela Stadium where the wardens were inducted.
Wardens from Nkangala and Gert Sibande regions will also be inducted soon.
