Rietgat Gauteng Traffic Wardens, together with Rietgat SAPS, Tshenolo PI, Imbewu Security, Zondi Crime Busters, and Gauteng Traffic Police, conducted a high-density operation across the Northern Corridor targeting crime hotspots in the Soshanguve and Mabopane areas.
During the operation, members arrested a 41-year-old male in the Jukulyn informal settlement of Soshanguve for allegedly selling dagga to children in the nearby Dali Mpofu informal settlement.
Another suspect allegedly selling dagga to learners near Mgidi Secondary School was apprehended.
While conducting a search at Uthando Secondary School, members noticed a suspicious street vendor near the premises. Upon searching, dagga, ammunition and copper, were found in his possession. The suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and possession of ammunition.
The operation extended to Mabopane Stationwhere officers conducted a foot beat that resulted in several arrests for offences including dealing in liquor without a license, dealing in illegal substances, and contravening the Immigration Act.
