Durban ( New Germany ) Shepstone Road
A woman who is five months pregnant fell out of a moving taxi this morning on Shepstone Road.
ER24 paramedics rushed to the scene to find the woman seated on the side walk and been treated by Metro Police Officers. She had sustained minor injuries to her arm and leg. The woman who was more concerned about her baby at the time was reassured by paramedic that she and her unborn child would be fine. They stabilised the patient and transported her to St Mary’s Hospital for a general medical checkup.
It is believed that the sliding door of the taxi was not closed, as she got up to close it the driver took a corner causing the door to open and the woman lost her footing and fell out of the taxi onto the road.
