A collision on the N1 south about 40km outside of Polokwane, has left one person dead, one person in a critical condition and seventeen other people have sustained various injuries this morning.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found multiple vehicles involved in a collision. It is unclear how the collision occurred but the local authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further. The road was closed while emergency personnel were busy on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the one person had sustained very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene. Another patient was in a critical condition and was airlifted by a medicopter to Polokwane Provincial Hospital for rapid medical care. The remaining patients were treated for various injuries and transported to various hospitals in Polokwane for their injuries.
