A man in his forties has tragically drowned in the Inanda dam late yesterday afternoon. Reports indicate that the people were being pulled along the water on tubes, after stopping the man took off his flotation device and decided to go for a swim; the people in the boat noticed him disappearing under the water and immediately called for help.
Netcare 911 rescue unit, N S R I and the Police search and rescue arrived at the scene and marked the place where the man was last scene. This morning at first light the divers and Netcare rescue unit arrived and started a search.
Police divers from Port Shepstone, Durban, and Pietermaritzburg were called in to assist and have been diving around the clock for the missing man.
