Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident scene involving three vehicles on the R102 east bound between the Ottwa Intersection and Northern Drive on the KZN North Coast.
Exact details to the cause of the accident are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles collided head-on and a third vehicle then crashed into the initial accident.
Three people sustained serious injuries and a further three people sustained moderate injuries. After all the patients were treated and stabilised on scene they were transported to the Netcare Umhlanga
Hospital and other hospitals in the area for further medical treatment.
