ER24 Paramedics received a chilling call just after 9 o’clock this morning of a possible drowning incident in Western Extension, Benoni.
On arrival ER24 Paramedics were met by a woman running to them holding a 20 month old child.
The mother found her motionless child in the swimming pool before she grabbed him out of the water and immediately began CPR.
The child began to react within 1 minute of CPR and, while protecting his airway, the mother called for assistance.
ER24 Paramedics assessed the little boy and found him to be in a stable condition. Both mother and child were transported by ER24 to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The mother’s quick actions and CPR resulted in a successful outcome that could have been a lot worse.
