Just after 09:00am this morning Rescue Care paramedics were called to a serious collision at the intersection of Berea Road and Manning Road.
On arrival paramedics found that a bus had collided with a small vehicle in the junction. Paramedics found the driver of the car still entrapped in the wreckage. Rescue services were called to assist whilst paramedics from ER24 and Rescue Care stabilized the injured driver. Once the driver was stabilized and cut free using the jaws of life he was carefully extricated using specialized equipment to prevent further injury. Once extricated the injured man was transported by Rescue Care to St Augustine’s Hospital for further care that he required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.
