It was a busy night for the paramedics at KZN Emergency Medical Services last night, as they attended to the normal case load as well as several accidents.
It started with a truck carrying sand, which reportedly overturned in the France location of Pietermaritzburg. There were two occupants in the truck, one sustained critical injuries and the other serious injuries. They were treated on scene by paramedics from KZN EMS before being transported to Edendale hospital for further care.
There were several accidents in the Durban area. The first on the N2 near Nandi drive. Two vehicles collided which resulted in four people being injured. The patients were treated on scene by paramedics from several ambulance services before being transported to several hospitals in the Durban area.
In the Reservor Hills area near Fulham close, there was a accident involving a minibus where two people were injured and transported to hospital.
Then on the M1 intersection with the Richmond road this morning there was a accident where a minibus and a car reportedly collided. This resulted in 18 people sustaining mostly serious injuries. The patients were treated for thier injuries by the paramedics from KZN EMS before being transported to RK Khan and ST Mary’s hospitals for further care.
North of the province on the R66 near Gingindlovu Wombane, a truck and a car collided, which resulted in two people sustaining injuries, who were transported to Eshowe hospital for further care.
