Seven people were injured when a BMW collided into the back of a tractor and trailer on the Viljoenskroon Road, around ten kilometres from Potchefstroom.
Two children and two adults were in the BMW. One child sustained critical injuries, the other child and one of the adults sustained serious injuries but were in a stable condition. The remaining adult from the BMW sustained minor injuries. Some of the patients needed to be extricated by rescue crews from the Potchefstroom Fire Department using hydraulic rescue tools.
Three people in the trailer of the tractor sustained minor injuries.
