Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a shooting incident on North Rand Road in Boksburg this morning after 07h15.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a man, believed to be in his forties, is in a critical condition following the shooting incident.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required.
Exact detail to the cause of the incident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
