Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Allandale Road near Chloorkop Road in Midrand this morning after 07h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a minibus and heavy goods vehicle were involved in a side-impact accident. Fourteen people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to critical and one woman tragically lost her live.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activate to airlift two critically injured people to hospital while the remaining patients were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
