Two men tragically died in a head on collision on the N5 about 30 kilometres from Harrismith today. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative, however the truck veered off the road after impact and overturned.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the crumpled remains of the bakkie at the side of the roadway with the two occupants still trapped in the twisted metal. The truck was found on its side in the veldt, the driver had left the scene . After paramedics assessed the patients it was found that they had died on impact due to the extensive injuries that they sustained.
