A motor cyclist has been injured after a collision on the Ruth First Highway (M4) involving two cars and a motorbike during peak hour traffic this morning.
ER24 along with other emergency services arrived on the scene to find the motorcyclist lying off the road in severe pain. Two light motor vehicles were found approximately two meters down the road of which one was lying in the bush on its roof.
The motorcyclist was treated for neck and back injuries and a possible fracture to his arm. Advanced life support intervention was performed on the man and he was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The driver of the light motor vehicle that overturned sustained a minor laceration to her head but opted to go to hospital privately. No other injuries were reported on the scene.
It is unclear as to how the accident occurred but the necessary authorities were on the scene and will investigate the incident further. Traffic was severely affected due to the accident as it narrowed down from two lanes to one lane near the scene.
